CROMWELL CEMETERY POLICIES

1. ANNUAL MEETING/WORK PARTY
The work party and annual meeting will be held the Saturday before the Memorial Day weekend immediately after the work party. It will be in the Sears's garage across the street from the cemetery if the Sears family agrees.

2. GATE ACCESS
The gates will always be unlocked. The vehicle gates are to be closed, (not locked) unless there are people working in the cemetery. Please enter from the North and exit to the South.

3. INHERITANCE
Plots may be passed down to family members by inheritance. The Secretary must be notified of any changes made for record keeping.

4. INTERMENT FEE
A $50.00 burial fee will be charged for each burial and/or each interment of cremated remains. An Application for Burial form must be completed prior to burial. It is available at www.Cromwellcemetery.org or from the secretary.

5. BURIALS
A coffin must be used, but it can be as simple as a pine box. A vault is not required. All cremains must be buried in an urn. The current cost for a plot is $600.00.

6. NUMBER of BURIALS per PLOT
Only one casket is allowed per plot. Six cremations are allowed per plot. All must have a marker. The Secretary must be notified of any additions or changes to the records.

7. HEADSTONES
A permanent headstone or marker is required to be installed within one year of any burial.

8. CREMATIONS
The top of an urn or container of cremated remains must be placed a minimum of 18' below the ground. The scattering of ashes on cemetery grounds is not permitted. Families are permitted to dig the hole.

9. EXCESS DIRT
Excess dirt that is removed from a plot for a casket or urn must be moved to the area by debris pile.

10. PLOT BORDERS, BENCHES, STATUARY
Any of these structures must be approved by the Board prior to installation. Upkeep is the responsibility of the owner. Any embellishment must be within plot boundaries.

11. SHRUBBERY, PLANTS, FLOWERS
All plantings must be approved by the Board. Flowers and ground covers may be planted within the plot borders and maintained by the family. Glass containers are not allowed. Plastic flowers are discouraged and will be removed when faded. Plot upkeep is the responsibility of the family/owner.

12. PLOT BUYBACK
The Cemetery Association does not buy back plots.

13. PETS
Pets are not allowed to roam in the cemetery independent of the owner.
